Pressure regulating shaft, as the name suggests, is used for pressure regulation and is located at the junction of tunnels and pressure pipelines. Generally, the water intake pipeline of power plants is relatively long. When the unit suddenly sheds load and closes the guide vanes during operation, due to the inertia of the water flow, there is a significant water hammer effect, which can easily damage the power generation equipment. Without a pressure regulating shaft, water hammer will destroy the guide vanes and other overcurrent components. Therefore, the existence of a pressure regulating well is crucial, as it is a key facility to ensure the stable operation of the hydropower system. At the same time, the protection of the pressure regulating well wall cannot be ignored, which directly affects the safety and service life of the project.
In 2020, China Electric Power Construction Third Hydropower Bureau undertook the construction of the Jinghe Second level Hub Power Generation and Water Diversion System Project. The pressure regulating shaft wall protection system adopts our company's independently developed and produced PUA-100 polyurea waterproof and anti-corrosion material, which has ultra-high strength and toughness, can withstand huge pressure and impact force, and can ensure the integrity of the shaft wall structure even in complex geological conditions and harsh operating environments. Its excellent waterproof performance is like putting a layer of waterproof armor on the well wall, which can effectively reduce the erosion and damage of external factors to the well wall, thereby extending the overall service life of the pressure regulating well and reducing maintenance and replacement costs for the national power system.
The quality of the project has been unanimously recognized by the owner unit, design unit, supervision unit, and construction unit of Party A and has passed the on-site acceptance. Its sister unit, China Electric Power Construction Fifth Hydropower Bureau, also chose to use the same materials and processes for the construction of the section in 2024, and successfully completed it by the end of the same year. Choosing to spray polyurea on the wall of the pressure regulating well is to build an indestructible protective barrier for hydraulic engineering!
